Students will learn to use shaping to achieve the cathead design on the bottom of the basket. Maple and curls are used as an accent on the basket that is woven with all natural reed. Students will flare out on this project that uses a slotted wooden base to make this sturdy basket. The accent is done with #3 round space dyed reed in an arrow design. Round ash side handles complete the basket. Its a good size to hold an afghan or the toys at Grammas house.

Students will be using fillers to start the base on this solid bottom basket. The basket has a slight decrease at the top and uses dyed reed for accents. Students may also weave the basket with all natural reed.
